Hello again!

Did anyone in the UK see the ‘Confessions of a Flight Attendant‘ on ITV1 last night? Wow, didn’t it make us all look like evil, and quite sadistic people! I promise that we are not all that bad…… honest.

For those that didn’t see it, you can see it on ITV Catchup.

There was one lesson that I hope all airline passengers took notice of. It’s something that I tell all my passengers. Here goes;

Treat your Flight Attendants with RESPECT at ALL TIMES

Let’s be honest, in the event of an emergency we are NOT (I repeat NOT) going to refuse to help those of you that have been rude during the flight. In that scenario we will help all passengers without exception.

But…….

If you have been the ‘idiot in 2C’ and have failed to show any signs of politeness and general courtesy, then I promise you that you will not be receiving any extra attention from us. Simple as that. Not that we will do anything terrible – but you won’t get those little extras that may help you enjoy your flight that little bit more.

Of course, in more exceptional circumstances (i.e. you have been threatening – and that includes raising your voice) then we have the authority to have you removed from the flight. If we are mid-flight, we will quite happily divert to the shittiest airport around and have you removed, before carrying on to our destination with the remaining passengers.

I can’t stress this ‘lesson’ enough. Do not be rude to the crew.

We do not expect you to creep, in fact all it takes is a please, a thank you, and maybe a smile if you can force it upon yourself!

I understand that some people were born to be miserable, rude, and with little or no respect. But trust me, you have got to make the effort.

Oh – and when I say goodbye to you when you are disembarking, it’s common courtesy to reply and maybe even thank us for keeping you safe.
