As a fear of flying sufferer there is plenty of help available to you. There are many websites out there with help & advice (the best of which is this one obviously ;-)!).

Some of you, however, may prefer more ‘hands on’ help with your phobia. Whereas I can provide you with 24/7 email support, I simply do not have the time and resources to meet you all. If I could I would!

For those of you that require extra help, maybe one of the many fear of flying help courses could be the answer.

Typically, courses run for one full day, and cost approximately £200. This may sound expensive, but consider the opportunities it may open up for you if the course proves to be a success.

Most courses include help & advice from aviation professionals and psychologists – followed by a short flight (with airline employees to guide you through it).

If you decide that this is the option for you, then where can you find these courses?

The majority of the large airports will periodically host courses run by large airlines. The best source of information is from the course organizers themselves.

Here is a list to get you started;

UK Courses

FlyingWithoutFear – Virgin
Aviatours – in conjunction with British Airways
Flying Fear – FlyBe (Exeter Airport)
Virtual Aviation – more expensive.
SOAR – Based in US, but course is available worldwide via DVD or streaming video

US Courses

SOAR
Fear of Flying Clinic
My Sky Program
TakingFlight

Alternatively, try searching Google (please note that other search engines are available!!). Type ‘fear of flying course gatwick’ and hit the search button. Simply replace ‘gatwick’ with your preferred airport for personalized results.
